Seizing the means of distribution

What do I mean by distribution?

The ability to click a button and know that thousands will read your words, see your video or hear you voice.

And not have to always pay for that distribution.

The slow old model is produce organic content for years to amass a following on social media. While monetizing by selling someone else’s stuff.

The new fast model is leveraging AI to automate and the almighty dollar to capture emails and phone numbers. While selling your own stuff.

📖 Story time:

10+ years ago I was doing SEO for my business and ranked for some juicy keywords. I made over $1.1 million in 6 months with an 80% margin.

That was until Google changed their algorithm and tanked all my rankings overnight.

A version of this story has happened to me 2-3 additional times but the platform and marketing method change:

• Facebook ads account shutdown

• Locked out of Instagram/Pinterest account

• Merchant account shut down

My income went to $0 because Google/Facebook/Instagram turned off the faucet.

Was I emailing all my buyers?

Was I sending the SMS texts?

Was I pushing them into a community?

Now that we have AI to compound our output of content I’m still a proponent of growing on social channels. The key is to make it low cost and to automate.

🐦 Twitter AI Growth

Postwise is an AI writer for Twitter and the best I’ve come across. They have a new Ghostwriter AI feature that allows you to input your previous writing and it will spit out Tweets in your style:

I provide my story above to a VA as an input and it spit this out:

This is damn good… shocking how good it was able to produce this.

She then uses the scheduling feature for a future time slot that is recommended for optimal viewing.

Since the ghostwriter spits out a bunch that are varied she will grab those and schedule posts. I’ve told her to humanize the text where it makes sense and to avoid what I call “Fortune cookie” tweets.

Postwise also has a feature to take a starting Tweet and expand to a thread:

Again, this is good stuff and formatted perfectly.

Schedule it and forget it.

All in you’re looking at $97/m for Postwise and $5-$10/hour for a VA at one hour per day and the output is:

10-20 daily Tweets and threads, for under $200 a month.

All those “ghost writers” hitting you up in your DMs are going to start at $2000/month.
